The Loopy Bobble

Knitty Gritty:

Needles: Size 8 dpn’s

Yarn: Lion Brand Alpine Wool

Finished size: about 5 inches in diameter

Abbreviations:  

kfb- knit into the front and back of a stitch to increase

loop- make loop stitch

k2tog- knit 2 stitches together to decrease

To knit:

CO 5 sts with dpn’s.

Join in the round.

Rnd 1: kfb all stitches (10 sts)

Rnd 2: *loop, kfb*, repeat around (15 sts)

Rnd 3: *k2, kfb*, repeat around (20 sts.)

Rnd 4: *k1, loop, k1, kfb*, repeat around (25 sts)

Rnd 5: *k4, kfb*, repeat around (30 sts)

Rnd 6: *loop, k1, loop, k1, loop, kfb*, repeat around (35 sts)

Rnd 7: *k6, kfb*, repeat around (40 sts)

Rnd 8: *k1, loop, k1, loop, k1, loop, k1, loop*, repeat around

Rnd 9: knit around

Rnd 10: *loop, k1, loop, k1, loop, k1, loop, k1*, repeat around

Rnd 11: knit around

Rnd 12: *k1, loop, k1, loop, k1, loop, k2tog*, repeat around (35 sts)

Rnd 13: * k5, k2tog*, repeat around (30 sts)

Rnd 14: *loop, k1, loop, k1, k2tog*, repeat around (25 sts)

Rnd 15: *k3, k2tog*, repeat around (20 sts)

Rnd 16: *k1, loop, k2tog*, repeat around (15 sts)

Rnd 17: *k1, k2tog*, repeat around (10 sts)

Stuff bobble with small bits of fiberfil.  You’ll want to make it firm to hold the round shape.

Rnd 18: k2tog around (5 sts)

To finish: 

Cut yarn, leaving a 6 inch tail.  Thread into a darning needle and pull through the last 5 sts and tighten.  Weave into a few stitches to secure and cut remaining tail.

Thread a ribbon through the top of the bobble and tie to hang.
