Hi, I'm Lacey Koczera! I live in Newark, Delaware with my husband, and three kids, who all put up with my knitting obsession very graciously!
I’ve always loved to make things, but knitting has captured my love of color, design, and craft, all in one. Designing something special for someone, and knitting each stitch, creates a work of love.
The process of creativity, to me, reflects a special part of the heart of God. This is what sets us apart from all other creations, that we have been made in God’s own image, and that He has given us our own imaginations. I want my life to be a work of art, “to be a thing of truth and also a thing of beauty in the midst of a lost and despairing world.” (words from Francis Schaeffer)
God has given me abundant life and I want the things I do and make to give Him glory. Loving my husband, raising my kids, encouraging my friends, and knitting are all part of my medium to share His love and hope.
Hi! My name is Katie Groop, and I am so excited you have visited our blog! I am enthusiastic about design, I love color, fabrics, yarn, and absolutely love to create. The process of dreaming up an idea, designing it, and bringing it to life makes me seriously happy. It is why I always have some creative project going…especially with knitting.
I am blessed to be the mother of two little children, Addie and Josiah, who are now almost 3, and 1. Not to mention, I am married to the coolest man on earth - Alex Groop. My kids have become a huge inspiration to me, and direct my aspirations in design. I was taught to knit by a family friend from the Philippines when I was about 8 years old, and knitting has been a constant in my life. I love it and always come back to it. When I became a mom, I started knitting garments for the kids. The past couple years that passion has grown. I am beginning to design my own knits, and I am obsessed! I am drawn to color, and simple, interesting shapes. Recently, I find that I really enjoy the unexpected way that knit is used. I love knit installments and knit haute couture. I love connecting with other knitters, and involving knitter friends in projects that Lace and I take on! Collaborations, anyone? This is essentially what Lace and I do – we collaborate, and help the other achieve common knitting goals. As I said, I love to know my community of knitters, so please feel free to contact us, or share what you are doing! Thanks again for visiting our blog!
